Was poking around looking for UFRaw for OS X GIMP 2.4.2, without luck, but then when I was using it yesterday I clicked on generate a preview for a RAW image (Nikon NEF) and it did it to my surprise, clicked on the NEF to open and UFRaw popped up!

Checked back at Wilber Loves Appel (www.wilber-loves-apple.org) and UFRaw is included in their GIMP 2.4.2 package.

Hello all,
Was anybody able to run ufraw plugin in gimp 2.4.2?
Is there someone able to compile a version for gimp 2.4.2 and make it available?
The link provided by Alexander Tschirk is no more functional.

It works fine with Gimpshop 2.2. I only opened one Canon 20D file (as a test). However, it corrected the white balance and exposure beautifully.

I've found a compiled version of the GIMP 2.4 Release Candidate 1 (not two as I sais - sorry for the mistake):
http://www.nasendackel.de/2007/09/09/gimp-24-fuer-macos/

Because it's an early RC of GIMP 2.4, I kept GIMP 2.2 (renamed at /Applications) and UFRaw still works with it. I was just curious if this error has sonething to do with the fact, that GIMP 2.4 is different oder not finished.

In frankly, I've got only four CR2-files. But I like the fact that I could open any RAW if I want to.

This is probably due to differences in version of shared libraries. Is this GIMP or GimpShop? Is there a download for the Mac you can point me to?

Thanks.

UFRaw worked well with GIMP 2.2 on Mac. But it does not work with GIMP 2.4 RC2. It fails to open "TIFF-Files" by trying to open CR2-Files.
Is there any solution or will wit work with the final version of GIIMP 2.4?

Hello,
it works fine on Gimp.
Download and start installation. When required to choose the path of the destination, click on choose and simply press Command-Shift-G and type: /Applications/Gimp.app.

Great tool!
I installed it on my wife's iMac to use with the Gimp, and getting it installed in /Applications/Gimp.app instead of Gimpshop.app was a bit of a problem: "Gimp" was grayed out in the "Choose..." dialog. I finished up making Gimpshop.app a symlink to Gimp.app, it installed fine, and immediately started popping up when a RAW file is opened in the Gimp.

Hi, unformtunatly it did not work. Funny, while trying to open a Nikon Raw file NEF, I get several error messages which seem to indicate he looks for a TIFF file.

If you wisch, I can send you a screen capture of these messages.
